Rigorous bench testing of the initiative exposes aspects that require improvement. Masterplanning is an unhelpful term. To those in the know it has a different meaning depending on which part of the industry you come from. To layman it conveys the wrong impression – an all controlling grand plan – whereas it should be “living tool” capable of dealing with changing circumstances without losing its essence and which can be used to orchestrate all subsequent actions.
Not only this but it belongs to the language of the business world. This initiative needs to be understood by a wide variety of people from different backgournds and therefore terms should be used that have a more universal understanding. OurPlanning is much closer to the spirit of the endeavour than MasterplanningPlus.
