Awkward plot configuration
The configuration of the plot is somewhat unusual with the garage set at the front and the house some way to the rear. This creates an awkward space between the back of the garage and the front of the house.
Infill gap
The proposal is to infill the awkward gap with a living / dining room. This has the additional benefit of giving access to the garage from inside the house enabling it to be more easily used as a storeroom and utility area.
Re-purposing the garage
The plot has a long drive leading to the garage which suffices for off-street parking and the garage is not used for this purpose. The proposal is to re-designate the garage as a storeroom/utility area and replace the garage door with infill walling containing a window.
