Teaching Coventry University 2

Virtual tour of Rome was Philip Kassanis’s last lecture in a series entitiled “Understanding Buildings” given to 2nd year students on the Interior Design course at Coventry University. Most of the year were on a study trip to Rome. However this was for  students remaining behind. The lecture was a virtual version of one of the tours organised for the students. It included a colleague’s content for the tour,  combining this with video clips of walk-throughs created using Google’s StreetView and additional educational YouTube clips from the Americal Institute for Roman Culture’s series Digging History.

On the strength of his performance the previous year, Philip had been invited back to do the same again but this time including a version for the 1st year students as well as the 2nd. He was pleased to be part of the team that led to a 100% score in the National Student Survey (NSS) for the course.
